Exalted Producer Shares…
Rob Grant, Producer of Exalted speaks of the album…
1. How would you describe the feel of the new album Exalted?
There is an element of beauty and contentment in this album. It
has a strong message and the message is conveyed beautifully
through the great melodies and the proverbial lyrics.
2. You produced Jonathan James’ other two CDs…what’s the
difference in this one?
I enjoy the other CDs but Exalted is definitely a continuing journey
in Jonathan’s walk and it reflects power, strength and movement
in the journey of devotion and worship, even in the slow songs.
3. What markets would Exalted appeal to?
There is something for everyone especially in the Christian
audience. This is an album that caters for the easy- listening
audience regardless of age. Every song is great and has its own
appeal.
4. Having said, that what are your top 5 picks?
I choose Holy, holy, holy ( for its simplicity, soothing quality,
balance and beauty); Exalted ( for its powerful delivery); Lamb of
God (for its almost ethereal nature); Bless the Lord ( for the
movement and clear message) and Unto You… this is really well
done and appealing even though different in genre and
treatment. I have given you 5, but check out Apple of the Eye as
well ...the fusion of Afro-Latin sounds in this song is quite cleaver
and Jonathan has managed to weave it into his own soothing and
laid back style.
5. Any other things you like to share, in closing?
It was a pleasure to work with Jonathan again. I feel confident
that we have achieved a great result, with a great product. I wish
Jonathan and the AEF all the best in this CD project.
