Owing to the huge success and spiritual blessing of Jonathan James’ debut CD album “I am the Lord” Jonathan has released another CD “My Covenant”

My Covenant is a collection of beautiful and moving worship songs from diverse musical genres. It begins with the meditative prayer Breathe On Me, and lifts us to the upbeat and rhythmic Jewish celebratory anthem Joyful Shouting. The country sounds of All that Matters follow with the live guitars of Betwixt Me and the melodious love ballads of His Favour and Rise Up O Judge. The album finishes with the dynamic and catchy tune, a reminder for us to Press On.

A CD with a touch from the Lord: Jonathan James’ new album, Exalted

Award-winning Gospel singer, song writer and guitarist Jonathan James, has released his third album of worship songs entitled Exalted. The CD contains 10 of Jonathan's original songs recorded with rich sounds, strong vocals and beautiful harmonies The songs range from the refreshingly simple and soothing tune of ‘Holy, holy, holy’ to the well-orchestrated, majestic anthem of ‘Exalted’; from the rhythmic and lively Afro-Latin sounds of ‘Apple of the Eye’ to the pure and angel-like voices of ‘Lamb of God’.

“There is a strong element of beauty and contentment…it has a clear message which is conveyed beautifully through great melodies and proverbial lyrics” said Rob Grant, the producer of the album.

Sound engineer and guitarist Priam Bacich described the album as “radio-friendly” and “uplifting”. “Each song”, he added “has its own unique sound and yet all 10 songs are held together masterfully by the theme of worship and exaltation of the Lord Jesus”. Stephanie Truscott and Dawn Hannell, two of the backup vocalists in the album described Exalted as “truly Bible-based, where the ancient Psalms come alive with contemporary tunes, sung in an easy and soothing manner…the unmistakable touch of the Lord is evident in each song…”

Jonathan James was the recipient of the Radio Mike Award in 2007 from New Christian Music (NCM) in the U.K. when two of his songs from the “My Covenant” album made it to the top 5 places in the UK Gospel charts in 2006.

All 10 songs in Exalted were composed by Jonathan within a period of 12 days in 2006 just after the James family holiday plans were cancelled due to the son’s sporting injury. “The disappointment turned out to be a divine appointment” according to Jonathan, who is also the International Director of Asia Evangelistic Fellowship (AEF), a national mission organization with 150 workers in 10 countries in Asia and the Pacific.

Sam Stephens, the executive Producer of the CD, based in Singapore, is confident that “just as the Lord blessed and anointed the first two CDs, Exalted will be greatly used by the Lord to bless all listeners regardless of the age group.” Sam added: “Much prayer has gone into this project… that this CD will be used to touch people with Christ’s unfailing love and extend His healing to the nations”.

Exalted will be released for world-wide sale in mid-August 2010 with the following pricing: AUD $22 /NZ $ 20/USD $15/CAD $ 15/SGD $20 and 20 Malaysian Ringgit. All proceeds from the sale will go towards the special AEF Jubilee Thanksgiving project “LifeWord”, a 50th anniversary initiative to provide culture-specific Gospel literature in 6 core Asian languages throughout the Asian region.

Six of the ten songs in the album are written by Jonathan, a well known singer, guitarist, song writer and worship leader. Jonathan is also a gifted Bible teacher and preacher who is currently the director of a mission organisation Asia Evangelistic Fellowship (AEF).

Recorded at the Myx Studios in Singapore, My Covenant is produced by one of West Australia’s most well-known Record Producers, Rob Grant.
